Thermally treated aspen is one of the most popular sauna materials. Heat treatment improves the wood’s moisture and heat resistance and makes it more durable. The silky surface and warm brown tone of thermo aspen are valued for their appearance, which suits modern and luxurious saunas beautifully.
To ensure the wood lasts a long time, it must be maintained regularly and correctly. It is recommended to treat the wooden bench parts with a wood preservative to protect the wood from moisture. High heat reduces the lifespan of wooden components; the highest permitted temperature for wood surfaces in the steam room is +135C.
