Smooth/smooth 27x145mm is an A-grade pine decking board made from Nordic timber grown at low temperatures. As a result, the material has beautiful small knots, which can also be seen in the pictures.

When looking at the decking board from the end, the board end should “smile”; then it is the right way up. As the boards dry, they cup (wood shrinks in the direction of the annual rings), causing the top surface of the decking board to curve slightly upward. Rainwater falling on the deck drains faster from the convex surface, and the deck timber gets slightly less wet. However, there are also many exceptions; for example, with a blank cut from the center of the wood, the board side does not matter.
