FINNFOAM (XPS) on oma täiesti ühtlase ja suletud pooride struktuuri tõttu veekindel ja tugev soojustusmaterjal. FINNFOAM sobib ideaalselt nii külmatõkkeks kui aluspõrandate, seinte ja lagede soojustuseks ning erinevate objektide lisasoojustuseks.
Paksud plaadid kiirendavad oluliselt tööd ehitusobjektil, kuna paigaldatavate plaadikihtide arv on väiksem. Näiteks terrassikate, pööratud või roheline katus võib olla ehitatud kahest FINNFOAM soojustuskihist ja saavutada U-väärtuse 0,09 W/m2K. Ka pinnasele rajatavatel aluspõrandatel kiirendavad paksud poolsulundiga plaadid paigaldust.
