Lacquering uses water-based semi-matt acrylic lacquer Teknocoat Aqua, which is transparent as standard but can be tinted in the most common translucent stain shades. During the lacquering process, the board is sanded before lacquering, then lacquered for the first time, sanded again (intermediate sanding) and lacquered a second time on a high-pressure spray line. The lacquered surface is even and easy to maintain. It is either transparent or semi-transparent depending on the selected shade, so knots and other natural wood patterns do not stand out as sharply and blend much more evenly with the wood texture than with opaque paint.
