Herringbone kalasaba mustri paigaldamiseks on vaja erinevaid laudu: A laud ja B laudu.
Kui võtta laud ja asetada see enda ette nii, et pikema külje lukukeel on enda poole, siis A laual jääb lühema külje keel paremale ja B laual vasakule. Samuti on iga laua taha märgitud, et kas see on A laud või B laud. Paigaldus on lihtsam kui hoida erinevaid laudu eraldi hunnikutes.
