When looking at the decking board from the end, the board end should “smile” and then the correct side is facing up. If the boards cup as they dry, meaning the wood shrinks in the direction of the annual rings, the top surface of the decking board curves slightly upward. Rainwater falling on the deck drains faster from the convex surface, and the deck timber gets slightly less wet. However, there are also many exceptions; for example, with a blank cut from the center of the wood, the board side does not matter.
Treatment class H3, suitable for use above ground in damp and wet areas exposed to continuous weather conditions. Treatment extends the service life of timber by 3 – 5 times. Treatment provides long-term protection against fungal damage and insect pests both when separated from the ground and in contact with the ground. NB! Treatment does not provide 100% protection against surface mould.
