Kihtplastik on ilmastikukindel. Spetsiaalne kattekiht kaitseb materjali UV-kiirguse eest, tänu millele annab tootjatehas materjalile 10 aastase garantii valguse läbilaskvusele. Garantii kehtib õige paigalduse korral.
Kuni 200 korda löögikindlam kui tavaline klaas.
Hea valguse läbilaskvusega. Olenevalt materjali paksusest jääb mitmekihilise tahvli valguse läbilaskvus vahemikku 45-80%.
Väga hea soojapidavusega. U -koefitient, olenevalt paksusest, on 1,0 W/m2K.
Keskkonnasõbralik. Kihtplastik aitab säästa energiat (soojust ja elektrit). Pärast kasutamisaja lõppu on materjal ümbertöödeldav ja taaskasutatav. Utiliseerimisel ei eralda kihtplastik (polükarbonaat, PC) keskkonnaohtlikke ühendeid. Põletamisel eraldab kihtplastik peamiselt vett ja süsinik dioksiidi (CO2).
Ei põle iseseisvalt. Kihtpastiku süttivustundlikkuse/tuleleviku klass (paksused 6-20 mm) on B-s1-d0 (B1). See võimaldab materjali kasutada TP1 nõuetele vastavates konstruktsioonides.
Kergesti töödeldav. Materjali töötlemiseks (lõikamine, puurimine, kinnitamine jne.) sobivad enamus käsitööriistad.
