Radiata mänd on oksakohtadeta, ei aja vaiku, ei tekita pinde ja ei lähe liiga kuumaks ning sobib seega ülihästi saunalavade valmistamiseks. Laiad lauad, harjamisega välja toodud puidusüü ja termotöötlusega saavutatud tumedam varjund annavad nii sise- kui välisvoodrilaudadele luksusliku ilme.
Termotöötlus annab puidule kauni ja sügava tooni. Termotöötluse käigus muutuvad puidu füüsikalised ja keemilised omadused – väheneb puidu niiskusimavuse võime ning kiirus, mistõttu vähenevad niiskusdeformatsioonid. Puit püsib mõõtmetelt stabiilsem ning paisub ja kahaneb välistingimustes oluliselt vähem. Suureneb puidu bioloogiline vastupidavus, kuna puidus leiduvad toitained muutuvad termotöötluse käigus puidukahjuritele ja hallitusseentele raskemini kättesaadavaks. Puidu soojus- ja heliisolatsiooniomadused paranevad naturaalpuiduga võrreldes kuni 30%, samuti vähenevad puidu kaal ja tihedus ning puit muutub mehhaaniliselt paremini töödeldavaks.
