Termohaab on üks enim kasutatud materjale sauna leiliruumis. Tänu termotöötlusele saavutab haab ühtlaselt sooja, mesiselt helepruunika tooni. Termotöötluse käigus omandab puit mitmeid väärtuslikke omadusi – puit muutub väliskeskkonna mõjudele stabiilsemaks ja vastupidavamaks. Lisaks langeb puidu niiskusprotsent ja väheneb puidu soojusjuhtivus, tänu millele sobib see eriti hästi saunaruumidesse. Termotöödeldud puit sobib hästi eluruumidesse, sest termotöötluse käigus ei kasutata kemikaale ega muid lisandeid, ainult kõrget temperatuuri. Termotöötlus on naturaalne ja keskkonnasõbralik puidu väärindamise viis, mis ei tekita kahjulikke jäätmeid.
