Bituumenist sokliriba kasutatakse konstruk-tsiooni ühenduskohtades, kui soovitakse vältida niiskuse kapillaarset kandumist konstruktsiooni või ehitusmaterjalide vahele. Tavaline kasutuskoht on sokli ja seinavöö vaheline ühendus betooni ja puidu vahel aga sokliriba kasutatakse ka betoonplokk -, kergkruusplokk – ja sandwich paneel konstruktsioonides.
Samuti hoiab sokliriba bituumen ära aluse ebatasasusest tingitud õhulekkeid, parandab konstruktsiooni heliisolatsiooni. Kummibituumenist sokliribad on väga vastupidavad vananemisele ja leeliselistele ühenditele.
Sokliriba vastab standardile EN 14967, bituumenist hüdroisolatsioonikihid ja standardile EN 13707, sarrustatud bituumenpapp katuse niiskusisolatsiooniks.
Toode ei sisalda kahjulikke aineid. Kasutuselt kõrvaldatud toode tuleb kõrvaldada prügilajäätmetena või vastavalt kohalikele eeskirjadele.
