Jackofoam

A strong and durable extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation board with a short-term compressive strength of 300 kN/m² at 10% deformation (EN 826) and a 15 mm half-lap rebate on all edges.

Jackofoam is an insulation board with a high long-term load-bearing capacity of 140 kN/m² (EN 1606) and negligible water absorption of 0.7% (EN 12087). It retains its insulating performance and strength even under demanding conditions in soil and water.

The material has high resistance to water vapour diffusion, µ = 150 (EN 10456), and withstands freeze-thaw cycles well (EN 12091) in a moist environment. Jackofoam provides thermal insulation with properties that remain stable over time. The product is resistant to decay and does not provide a suitable environment for fungi, microorganisms or pests.

Jackofoam is an environmentally friendly material manufactured without CFC, HCFC or HFC gases or other ozone-depleting substances. Its closed cells contain only air. The product contains no toxic brominated flame-retardant compounds and is classified as reaction-to-fire Euroclass F (EN 13501-1).

Applications:

• Perimeter frost-heave protection

• Basement walls, plinths and foundations

• Ground-supported floors and industrial floors

• Thermal insulation of water and sewer pipelines

• Inverted roofs

• Frost-heave protection for unheated buildings and civil engineering structures

Jackofoam is suitable for low and medium loads. Because the material is resistant to decay, Jackofoam products recovered when an old building is demolished can be reused in new construction.

Installation:
Jackofoam boards must be installed on a level substrate. Where vertical waterproofing is used, attach the boards to the waterproofing with solvent-free weber.tec Superflex 10 bitumen mastic or weber.therm PU Fix polyurethane foam adhesive. Where there is no waterproofing, the boards can also be secured with plastic anchors.

Before plastering a plinth, roughen the Jackofoam surface (for example, with coarse sandpaper) and follow the plaster system manufacturer’s instructions.

Storage:
Protect the products from prolonged exposure to sunlight. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions when handling them.

NB!
Using XPS boards does not ensure adequate water drainage
(the grooves cannot be aligned between the boards) and impairs the structure’s hygrothermal performance.
