Thermory dark brown oil for maintaining wooden surfaces, especially thermally treated ash

Thermory® oil is water-based and almost odourless, giving wood a dark brown thermo-ash-like tone. Suitable for both outdoor and indoor use (terraces, terrace furniture, etc.). The oil absorbs quickly and regulates moisture movement in the wood. The oiled surface remains velvety.

Coverage: 120–160 ml / m2 for two oiling coats (depending on the absorbency of the wood species used). Shake and mix thoroughly before use.

The oil may only be applied to clean, even, dust-free and grease-free surfaces. Before oiling boards, test on a small piece of wood. We recommend following the oil manufacturer’s instructions.

The intensity of the colour tone depends on the board quality, wood species, application method and wood moisture level. Wood moisture must not exceed 20%.

Apply a thin layer of oil and remove excess oil immediately. Under normal conditions, the oil dries in approximately 3 hours. The second oil coat should not be applied before 8 hours have passed. The optimal finishing and drying temperature is +15 – +30 C°, the minimum drying temperature is +5 C°. In unfavourable weather conditions (high humidity, low temperature), drying may take longer than stated.

Thermory® thermally treated decking boards do not necessarily require surface finishing. Like all wood, thermally treated wood naturally ages to a silver-grey colour over time. This process starts immediately and, depending on the effect of UV radiation, takes from a few months to a year. This does not make thermally treated wood less resistant to decay. Regular cleaning makes the terrace last longer. We recommend cleaning and maintaining the terrace every spring before the start of summer.
