Strength graded timber for building
Using wood for building is very widespread. In spite of sorting mehtod, strength class of building timber must be determined and marked on every rafter with all the necessary information. There are many different strength classes of timber and the European Union has worked out solid strength classes (a.k.a C-classes). Most widespread calibrated and sorted timbers cross-cut measurements in Estonian markets are 45mm x 70/95/120/145/170/195/220mm.
Machine strength grading
In comparison with visual sorting, machine strength graded timbers measurements are more accurate. There are many different strength grading machines which are also based on different methods (mechanic, dynamic, optic, radiation-based).
Machine strength grading can be done only when the company has a specific certificate.
