Lakkimisprotsessi käigus lihvitakse laud enne lakkimist, seejärel lakitakse esimest korda, tehakse uus lihvimine (vahelihv) ning lakitakse teist korda kõrgsurve pihustiliinil. Sellise töötluse järel on tulemuseks ühtlane ning sile viimistlus, kus ei ole karedaid kohtasid.

Lakitud pind on ühtlane ja hästi hooldatav. See on kas läbipaistev või vastavalt valitud värvitoonile poolläbipaistev, seetõttu ei tõuse oksakohad ja muud puidule iseloomulikud mustrid nii teravalt esile ning sulanduvad palju ühtsasemalt puidu tekstuuriga võrreldes katva pinnavärviga värvimisega.
