- This material is well suited for various construction work: beams, battens and timber framing, as well as strips and cladding.
- Dimensional accuracy is important for planed timber. Wood is a hygroscopic material, so tangential dimensional changes may occur. This means wood tries to balance its moisture content with the relative humidity and temperature of the surrounding air. When moisture conditions change, wood either shrinks or swells.
- Spruce absorbs less moisture than pine, so moisture-related dimensional changes in spruce are smaller.
