Tyvek® 2460B protects thermal insulation from airborne moisture and helps maintain the insulation’s technical properties. It is primarily intended for wall assemblies. At the same time, the membrane does not prevent moisture from escaping from the roof or wall structure (structural moisture, water vapour diffusion). Tyvek® 2460B allows water vapour to pass freely from the layer or structure below the underlay without moisture condensing on the underside of the membrane. This allows roof insulation to be installed at full thickness without the ventilation gap traditionally required between the underlay and thermal insulation.
