We recommend the frame profile mainly for horizontal installation and building timber frames. Before installation, unfinished material requires priming and coating with one layer of topcoat.
A planed beam is timber that has been planed on all four sides.
With planed materials, the quality of the material is immediately visible, as planing achieves the desired wood profile, surface smoothness and dimensional accuracy.
Dimensional accuracy is important, but because wood is a hygroscopic material, tangential dimensional changes may occur. This means wood tries to balance its moisture content with the relative humidity and temperature of the surrounding air. When moisture conditions change, wood either shrinks or swells. Spruce absorbs less moisture than pine, so moisture-related dimensional changes in spruce are smaller.
Well suited for various construction work: beams, battens and timber framing, as well as strips and cladding.
Handling: the wood is profiled, unfinished with wood preservative and unpackaged.
